India’s COVID-19 cases near 19,000-mark; ICMR halts rapid testing as kits found faulty

Over 1,300 fresh COVID-19 cases and 44 related deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of positive cases in the country to 18,985.

With 3,260 people recovering from the deadly virus, now the total number of active cases stands at 15,122.

Meanwhile, the death toll in India has crosses the 600-mark. As many as 603 people have lost the battle to the virus so far.

India’s recovery rate stands at 17.48 per cent at the moment.

Meanwhile, the ICMR reacted to reports of faulty test kits and urged states not to use rapid test kits for two days as a probe has been initiated.
