Assam govt offices resume functioning amid lockdown

Amid COVID-19 lockdown, all government offices in Assam have resumed functioning from Tuesday onwards. Officers from secretary level to superior ranks will have to be present in the state secretariat.
Amid COVID-19 lockdown, all government offices in Assam have resumed functioning from Tuesday onwards.
Officers from secretary level to superior ranks will have to be present in the state secretariat. Meanwhile, 30% percent of third and fourth grade employees will be required to be present.
All the officers of the rank of deputy secretary and above will attend office regularly and third and fourth category employees will have to attend office as per the roaster determined by the department heads.
The state government has also asked employees to strictly follow the health guidelines.
The Assam Secretariat witnessed activities in the morning as officials and employees started coming.
The government employees have been debarred from using their private vehicles and provided with transport facilities to reach office. The authorities have arranged special bus services for the employees to reach their offices.
Meanwhile, employees attending office today after a gap of 27 days, expressed their happiness. They said that they were happy to be getting back to work after a long gap.
However, adequate precautionary measures have been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
