COVID-19 positive cases in India continue to surge at a rapid pace with almost 1,000 fresh cases and 51 related deaths being reported in the last 24 hours.

With this the total number of positive cases in the country has crossed the 9,000-mark.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 324. On the other hand 857 people have recovered from the disease.

The ICMR has informed that over 2 lakh tests have been conducted so far.

The Home Ministry has further identified that 146 hotspots have been identified in 15 districts comprising of close to 10 lakh people.
