The decision has been taken after Manish Tibrewal, a resident of Spanish Garden was found positive with Coronavirus. However, medical emergency has been exempted from the restrictions.
The 45-yr-old individual is the first COVID-19 positive patient from Kamrup (Metro). It is believed that Tibrewal who has a travel history to New Delhi may have contracted the novel coronavirus there.
He developed complications in breathing following which he went to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for health check up. Subsequent to this, the individual was tested positive.
It may be mentioned that the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati was under home quarantine since March 17.
Meanwhile, after Kamrup (M) reported its first coronavirus case, Spanish Garden, the apartment where the patient lived with his family has been sanitized today.
Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), Fire and Emergency Services personnel sanitized the apartment and its nearby areas as a preventive measure against the spread of coronavirus.
On the other hand, a team of doctors arrived in Spanish Garden to conduct medical tests of the family members of the patient. The family members of the person are on home quarantine at the apartment.
