Former Tripura Chief Secretary Yash Pal Singh has been sent to a 4-day police custody.
The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, West Agartala granted police with 4 days custody of YP Singh.
Notably, Tripura police had sought a 10-day remand for the former Chief Secretary. YP Singh is one of the prime accused in the alleged multi-crore PWD Scam in the State.
Singh was brought back to the State today morning after he was arrested at Ghaziabad in Delhi NCR on February 17.
YP Singh was absconding for almost 5 months, since an FIR into the alleged scam was lodged at the West Agartala Police Station.
Other than YP Singh, former Tripura PWD Minister and senior CPI-M leader Badal Choudhury and former Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmick are also prime accused in the case.
However, Badal Choudhury and Sunil Bhowmick recently managed to secure bail from the Court and were released from the jail.
