People have taken to the streets in Imphal West condemning Friday night’s blast at the Singjamei Chingamathak locality.

The blast occurred at around 10:25 pm in Singjamei Chingamathak locality of Imphal West.

The incident took place at the gates of the residence of one Baruni Singh, opposite to Iboyaima Hospital.

The bomb has been touted to be a low intensity explosive which resulted in a few nearby parked vehicles getting damaged. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Two teams from the Imphal West and Singjamei police stations arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation. A preliminary round of investigation was also conducted which saw some officials from the Assam Rifles joining the probe.
