Noted academic, advocate, administrator and political analyst Dr Pabitra Kumar Chaudhuri breathed his last on Tuesday. He was 92.

Chaudhuri was a personality with immense social, political and cultural contribution to Assamese civic life.

He was the son of noted freedom fighter and member of the Indian Constituent Assembly, the late Rohini Kumar Chaudhuri. His remains will be cremated tomorrow at the Nabagraha crematorium in Guwahati

Chaudhuri leaves behind his wife, Manju Chaudhuri, three sons, grandchildren and a host of relatives.
