A case has been registered against Tripura IPFT MLA Dhananjoy Tripura at the West Agartala Women Police Station on Wednesday night in connection with domestic violence.
The case has been registered by the wife of the MLA. Dhananjoy Tripura has been accused of assaulting his wife.
Under section 498-A and 307, the case has been registered against the IPFT legislator from Manu constituency of South Tripura.
While, police have launched an investigation, no arrests have been made so far.
It may be mentioned that it is not the first time that a case has been registered against the IPFT MLA. Earlier in May, before his marriage, the victim had registered a case of rape against Dhananjoy. However, later in June, Dhananjoy Tripura married the girl.
Other than Dhananjoy Tripura, his mother – Khargashree Tripura, brother – Chandrajoy Tripura and sister – Madhurani Tripura have also been booked by the police.
