In a relief to the residents of Guwahati, curfew has been completely lifted in the city after no reports of fresh violence came in during the last three days.

The curfew had been relaxed for a major portion of the day since the last two days. Along with that the broadband internet services have also been restored from today.

Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday had also tweeted in this regard, announcing that the curfew would be lifted completely in Guwahati city from today onwards.

With the situation turning normal throughout Assam, people are expecting that peace prevails at any cost even as protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act continues in the state.

With the lifting of curfew from Guwahati, people were seen thronging markets in the morning and buying essential commodities.
