Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy has been asked to go on long leave by the Centre. Highly placed sources told northeast live that Centre was unhappy with his controversial comments on a number of issues.
Besides, the Meghalaya Government was unhappy with Governor Roy, over his delay in giving assent to the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi was given additional charge of Meghalaya on Monday. He was assigned with the additional responsibility as Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy, is on a leave.
Ravi is likely to be sworn in as Governor of Meghalaya at a ceremony tomorrow, sources said.
