As suspense continues over the UNLF chairman RK Meghen’s return to Manipur, top sources have told Northeast Live that the UNLF chief, who was released from jail on Saturday evening has been escorted to Delhi by officials of security agencies for a debriefing.

Meghen was released from a Guwahati jail on Saturday after he completed a 10-year term in prison for multiple charges. While he was expected to reach Imphal today, suspense grew over his whereabouts after he failed to return to Manipur.

Raising speculations, local media in the state reported that may have been kept in an undisclosed location by the intelligence agencies.

It may be mentioned that Rajkumar Meghen was nabbed in the year 2010 and was in jail since until Saturday when he completed his 10-year imprisonment term.

In 2016, Meghen was convicted by the National investigation agency along with 18 other UNLF leaders under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful activities prevention’s act for various offences, including criminal conspiracy, terrorists
act and waging war against the nation.
