Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh convened a crucial cabinet meeting in his official residence to discuss on the prevailing law and order situation in the state ahead of the October 31 deadline for conclusion of the Naga peace talks.
All the BJP MLAs were also present in the meeting. It may be mentioned that apprehensions over threat to territorial integrity are escalating in Manipur ahead of inking the peace deal.
Various groups and Civil Society Bodies believe that conclusion of the peace talks will lead to territorial integration of Naga inhabited areas of Manipur.
Moreover, Chief Minister N Biren Singh had recently stated that the Centre is yet to communicate the state government over the issue.
