Governor Najma Heptullah has reportedly assured that the case of the mysterious death of a minor at her school hostel will be handed over to the CBI.
Speaking to Northeast Live, new convener of the Joint Action Committee L Gyaneswari said the governor has personally assured the JAC members that she will press the state government to send a fresh reminder to the concerned ministry so that the case is taken up by the CBI.
The JAC also submitted a memorandum to Heptullah at the Raj Bhawan on Wednesday evening.
The JAC convener also informed that they had met Chief Minister N Biren Singh on September 5th and he had assured unconditional release of the arrested JAC members.
However, the CM’s promise of handing over the case to CBI remains unfulfilled, said the JAC.
It may be mentioned that the JAC had organized a number of protests including shutdowns demanding that the case be taken up by the CBI.
The 13-year-old minor girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the hostel of Standard Robarth School near Inphal.
