The Indian cricket team departed from Mumbai on Wednesday to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, slated to begin on May 30 in England and Wales.

Indian skipper Virat Kholi and head coach Ravi Shastri addressed the media ahead of the team’s departure.

Team India captain Virat Kohli said that World Cup 2019 would be the most challenging world cup for him looking at the format of the game. He also maintained that the focus of the team will be to play the best cricket.

Before Indian team begins their World Cup 2019 campaign against South Africa on June 5, they will play warm-up games against New Zealand on May 25 and Bangladesh on May 28.

Meanwhile, the BCCI took to Twitter by sharing pictures of the World Cup squad from Mumbai airport.
