The Supreme Court will resume hearing on the PIL pertaining to the rescue operations in Ksan, Meghalaya only in July after summer vacation.
The court was requested to hear the matter immediately given its urgency. The apex court, however, asked the lawyers to file their affidavits, but it will hear the matter in July.
The State Government has filed an application in the Supreme Court to close the matter.
It may be mentioned that tragedy struck the illegal coal mine in Ksan on December 13 last year, trapping as many as 16 coal miners.
Even after the massive rescue operation involving multiple agencies, only two bodies could be retrieved. Even families of the miners have submitted their letters to call off the rescue operations.
