Assam BJP chief Ranjit Dass on Monday stated that the party leadership in Delhi has a much bigger role for NEDA convener and Assam Health and Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dass added that the party banks heavily on Sarma to oversee its poll campaigns in the region.
Sarma, who was slated to contest from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency, will not contest the ensuing parliamentary elections with the BJP central leadership deciding to vest upon him the responsibility of steering the party’s campaign in the region.
