ULFA-I Cadre Surrenders Before Assam Police, Reunites with Family After 14 Years

ULFA-I Cadre Surrenders: Following his surrender, he was allowed to meet his family members, who, along with the local villagers.

In a significant development, a hardcore ULFA-Independent cadre has surrendered before the police in Assam’s Golaghat district.

The ULFA-I cadre identified as Navajit Asom alias Mandip Saikia has returned to the mainstream and surrendered before the Golaghat Police Station.

Saikia, a native of Morongi village, had joined the proscribed outfit in 2010. His surrender before the Golaghat Police Station marks his return to the mainstream.

Following his surrender, he was allowed to meet his family members, who, along with the local villagers, expressed happiness over his decision to renounce militancy.

This development highlights the ongoing efforts to bring insurgents back into the fold of society and promote peace in the region.
