The Meghalaya coal mine tragedy has taken a big political turn with Congress president Rahul Gandhi taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of not doing enough to rescue the 15 trapped miners in East Jaintia Hills.
In a direct attack on the Prime Minister, Gandhi tweeted, “15 miners have been struggling for air in a flooded coal mine for two weeks. Meanwhile, PM struts about on Bogibeel Bridge posing for cameras. His government refuses to organise high pressure pumps for the rescue. PM please save the miners“.
The attack came just a day after Prime Minister Modi visited Assam to inaugurate the historic Bogibeel bridge.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju tweeted urging all political parties to play undue politics over the entire matter of the trapped miners in Meghalaya.
