Assam Police Deport 5 Bangladeshi Nationals in Continued Crackdown on Infiltration

The deported individuals have been identified as Hansi Akhtar, Sraboni, Shohagi Khan, Sumi Khan, and Nila Akhtar.
In a determined effort to curb illegal infiltration, Assam Police apprehended and deported five Bangladeshi nationals across the international border.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police force for their proactive measures in combating illegal immigration. Taking to X, he praised the team for their dedication and unwavering efforts to safeguard Assam’s territorial integrity.
“Assam Police has once again shown exemplary dedication by apprehending and deporting five Bangladeshi nationals involved in illegal infiltration. Great work, team!” the Chief Minister posted on X, reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal migration.
This action is part of a larger, ongoing effort by Assam Police to identify and address infiltration issues that pose challenges to the state’s demographic and security stability.
Assam police had arrested two individuals, Abdul Zaher Sheikh of Joypur Namapara and Sabbir Mirdha of Kachipara Bazar in significant operation conducted on December 24. Authorities linked the influx to a wider conspiracy involving cross-border handlers.
