Apurba Kakoty, manager of a Stone Crushing Unit at Jagun in Eastern Assam, who was abducted by the ULFA-I earlier this month has been released.
Kakoty was released by the cadres of the rebel outfit at India-Myanmar border town of Nampong in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.
Apurba Kakoty called up his family soon after his family and informed them about his release and his location.
Meanwhile, the family of Apurba Kakoty has left for Nampong to get him back home.
However, the police are yet to confirm Apurba’s release.
Apurba Kakoty was kidnapped by a group of around 6 ULFA-I cadres on November 19 from his office in Jagun.
