The all important 125th Amendment and requirement for more central forces to safeguard the indegenous people of Tripura are among the top agenda that would be discussed with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Debbarma said.
Debbarma expressed optimism, stating that the Union Home Minister has shown a keen interest in addressing the outstanding issues of Tripura’s indigenous people. Debbarma said that issues related to the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, fencing and patrolling along the Indo-Bangladesh border and implementation of the 125th amendment were discussed with Home Minister Shah.
Notably, the second round of discussions on the Tiprasa Accord was held in New Delhi earlier this month, where progress was made on several crucial matters.
Taking to Facebook, Pradyot Debbarma shares details about the meeting. He said, “Amit Shah is coming to Tripura between 19-21 December for the Northeastern conference. Many issues will be discussed including the 125th amendment, which is beyond the state of Tripura. The home minister is positive about it. And we need more central forces in Tripura because we trust them, to protect our land.”
