Devajit Saikia Replaces Jay Shah as Interim BCCI secretary

Devajit Saikia hails from Assam. He is a former first-class cricketer.
Advocate General of Assam and current Joint Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Devajit Saikia, has assumed the role of interim BCCI Secretary on Saturday.
Saikia replaced Jay Shah, who recently took over as the new International Cricket Council (ICC) President leaving the position vacant.
As per BCCI regulations, the cricket board needs to hold elections for a Secretary within 45 days of the interim secretary vacating the office.
The BCCI is likely to make announcements regarding the Secretary election soon.
