Tripura Exports Rs 1 Crore Worth Agar Oil to Dubai

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hailed a significant achievement for the state’s agarwood industry as 16 kilograms of agar oil, valued at nearly Rs. 1 crore, was exported to Dubai.
In a post on X, he expressed pride in the milestone, commending the Forest Department, particularly the North East Centre for Entrepreneurship (NCE), for their efforts in promoting Tripura’s agar trade.
“This is a proud moment for Tripura. Our agar growers have reached the global market. Huge appreciation to the Forest Department and NCE for their tireless efforts,” wrote CM Manik Saha.
The consignment, was approved by the Director General of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Mamon Enterprise, a Kadamtala-based firm in North Tripura, secured the license to export the oil.
Earlier, on the opening session of the 4th International Agarwood Conclave and Buyer-Seller Meet, CM Saha also highlighted the immense potential of Tripura’s agarwood sector. He also reiterated the state’s ambitious plans to build a Rs. 2,000-crore agarwood-based economy within the next 4-5 years, leveraging the success of the Tripura Agarwood Policy 2021 to attract investment and boost production.
