Insurgent Outfit NSCN (K-YA) Issues Extortion Note of Rs 20 Lakh from Oil India Limited

Suspected NSCN-K-YA militants have served an extortion demand to petroleum giant Oil India Limited which has its operation at the Manabhum reserve forest in eastern Arunachal. The thickly forested Manabhum reserve forest falls under both Changlang and Namsai districts. The matter has created sensation in the area as it concerns the safety and security of the officials and workers of the Maharatna company. This comes after recent reports of massive extorition drive launched by militants in Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal.
