Manipur: 5 Cadres of Prepak (PRO), UNLF, KCP (PWG) Arrested in Separate Operations

The Manipur government has intensified its crackdown on extortion in the valley districts. As per information shared by the Manipur Police at least 5 cadres of the PREPAK (PRO), UNLF and KCP (PWG) have been arrested in the last 48 hours.

One active cadre of PREPAK (Pro) identified as Huidrom Priyokumar Singh from Imphal West District was arrested on Friday. Police said he was involved in extortion activities from shops in Imphal area.

In the second incident, Manipur Police arrested one active member of the UNLF (Ningon Macha group) identified as S Warish @ Ching-nun-gakpa from Lilong Haorou Hangam-thabi in Thoubal District. One .32 pistol with live rounds was seized from the UNLF cadre.

Besides, 8 rounds of live ammunition was seized from him, the police informed.

On Thursday, Manipur Police arrested three active members of the KCP (PWG). The cadres have been identified as Chongtham Shyamchandra Singh from Imphal West District, Maibam Suraj Khan and Boghimayum Sahid Khan from Imphal East District on charges of extortion.

They were involved in extortion and illegal possession of arms. Three numbers of 5.56 mm INSAS live ammunitions were seized from them.
