The three day Shillong Lit Fest culminated with a stellar show that saw the festival get its first international writer, with Turkish diplomat Firat Sunel taking part in a discourse on his book and later attending the closing ceremony with tourism minister Paul Lyngdoh. The day began with the Turkish ambassador, who, in conversation with the director of tourism, CVD Diengdoh, discussed facets of his book. The discussion centered around the latest book by Sunel, ‘The Lighthouse Family’ and spoke at length about the messages in his book.
