Mizoram Home Department Issues Statement After Mizo Groups Ask Meitei to Leave Manipur

Following the ultimatum issued by the Mizo Defence League to Meiteis in Mizoram to leave the state by the end of November, the Mizoram Home Department has issued a statement requesting residents to refrain from actions which can instigate communal incidents within Mizoram in connection with the Manipur conflict. The Government of Mizoram has also assured that it will continue to take steps to ensure the safety and security of people from outside the state, in particular those from the state of Manipur, and added that the Government will continue to take steps for the safety of Mizos living outside Mizoram, especially students and workers in Manipur.
