Nagaland Cabinet to Discuss NSCN-IM’s Statement on Threat to Return to Armed Struggle Tomorrow

The NSCN-IM on November 7 had come out with a very strongly worded statement in recent years, threatening to resume its armed struggle.
The Nagaland Cabinet is set to discuss the recent statement by NSCN-IM, which warned of resuming an armed struggle to defend ‘Nagalim’s sovereignty, unique history, and territorial integrity’. Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang called the statement a “very sensitive issue,” noting its potential impact on the state and all Naga-inhabited areas including in parts of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Myanmar.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Zeliang said, “The statement issued by Th Muivah is a very sensitive issue which reflects the people of the state and all the inhabited areas of Nagas including Nagaland. The issue is very sensitive and people are alarmed so we want to discuss this issue tomorrow in the Cabinet.”
The NSCN-IM on November 7 had come out with a very strongly worded statement in recent years, threatening to resume its armed struggle and resort to a violent armed resistance against India in order to defend, what it calls, the unique history and sovereign existence of Nagalim.
