Condemning the brutal attack on RTI activist Agnes Kharshiing, Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh said that this act is inhumane and unacceptable.
She further said that the circumstances under which this assault took place requires immediate inquiry and wished that both the victims get a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, other civil society organisations like TUR condemned the attack on Agnes Kharshiing and Amita Sangma.
The organisation said that this attack is not an aberration but rather took place in a planned manner in the same district where RTI activist PoiPynHun Majaw was murdered earlier this year and is yet to get justice.
They further urged for a speedy investigation into this heinous attack and reiterated that Agnes Kharshiing’s fight against corruption is not just a lone fight, but it’s a fight of entire Meghalaya.
A rally has also been planned for tomorrow to condemn the attack on Kharshiing.
