Assam’s DB Stock Kingpin Dipankar Barman Remanded To 7-Day Police Custody

Owner of DB Stocks and Consultancy and kingpin of the multi-crore online trading scam, Dipankar Barman has been remanded to 7-day police custody by the District and Sessions in Court in Guwahati today.

While the police had sought 14-day custody of Barman, the court granted only 7 days.
Moreover, 8 other accused in the multiple online trading scams in Assam including Bihsal Phukan, Sumi Bora, Tarkik Bora and Ranjit Kakoti have been remanded to 3-day custody by a special CBI court in Guwahati today. They will be produced before the CBI court again on Saturday.
Accused in the multi-crore online trading scam, Dipankar Barman was arrested from Goa on Sunday last and brought to Guwahati yesterday evening. Barman was grilled by cops at the Pan Bazar Police Station before he was taken to the court today.
Barman was brought to Guwahati by a 4-member team of Guwahati police which had arrested him from a location around 70-80 km from Goa after receiving specific inputs about his movements.
Sources indicate that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may seek custody of Barman in the coming days as the investigation into the extensive online trading fraud continues to unfold.
