Security Forces Seize Large Cache of Arms and Explosives in Manipur’s Hill and Valley Regions

Security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and explosives, including sniper rifles, grenades, and improvised weapons.
In a series of extensive search operations conducted by security forces across fringe and vulnerable areas of Manipur’s hill and valley districts, a substantial amount of arms and explosives was seized.
According to a release from Manipur Police, during the operation in the Tentha Tuwaband foothills in Thoubal district, security forces recovered the following items: one 7.62mm sniper rifle, five 9mm pistols with magazines (identified as Burmese-made), five 36 HE hand grenades, two 2″ mortar shells, two tube launchers, six Stardyne 90 explosives, four electronic detonators, twenty live rounds, two tear smoke shells (SR), one gas gun shell, one tear smoke shell (LR), two 16mm mini-flare cartridges, and one Baofeng radio set.
In a separate operation in the foothills of Thangjing ridge, west of Teijang village in Churachandpur district, security forces uncovered an additional set of weaponry and ammunition.
The items seized included two .303 rifles with magazines, one improvised .303 sniper rifle equipped with a telescopic sight, two .22mm semi-automatic rifles with magazines, one country-made mortar (locally known as a “Pumpi”) with stand, thirty rounds of live ammunition, four rounds of Pumpi ammunition, four non-electric detonators, two tear smoke grenades (MK IV), five meters of cortex, and ten meters of safety fuse.
