Assam: Five Prisoners Escape From Morigaon Jail, Probe On

The escaped prisoners have been identified as Saifuddin, Jiyarul Islam, Noor Islam, Mafidul and Abdul Rashid.
As many as five prison inmates of Morigaon District Jail of Assam managed to evade security measures and flee the premises by breaking the rods of their barracks and climbing over a 20-foot tall boundary wall of the jail. The escapees were accused in POCSO cases.
The escaped prisoners have been identified as Saifuddin, Jiyarul Islam, Noor Islam, Mafidul and Abdul Rashid.
The jail authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the escape and are trying to determine how they managed to escape.
Notably, a high-level probe into the incident has already begun and attempts are underway to nab the absconding criminals.
The incident sparked widespread concern among authorities and the local public.
