Kokborok is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken by the Tripuri people of Tripura and neighbouring areas of Bangladesh.
Expressing happiness over the government’s recent decision to include Kok Borok language and Alternative English alongside Bengali as options for students in judicial exams for hiring in Tripura’s judicial department, Tripura Royal Scion and TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma today pressed for an extension of this norm beyond judicial examinations.
He said that the next challenge is to ensure that Kok Borok becomes a standard option for the students and candidates in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and all other competitive exams.
Pradyot Kishore Debbarma also emphasized the collective responsibility of the community to nurture and empower the younger generation for leadership roles in the state.
“After our intervention Exams will be held in Kok Borok and alternative english for judiciary. Now the next challenge is that this must also be a norm for our students and candidates in UPSC and all other competitive exams. All of us should ensure that in the coming years we get better officers from the younger generation in the right position,” he posted on X.
