Manipur: Normal Life Comes To Standstill In Thoubal, 48 Hours Shutdown Over Abduction Of 2 Youths

Protesters have also threatened to gather in front CM's secretariat to press for their demands.

Normal life came to a standstill in Manipur’s Thoubal district amid the 48-hour total shutdown imposed by the Joint Action Committee demanding safe release of the two youths abducted by suspected Kuki militants. The JAC threatened that if the Government fails to rescue the two youths within 48 hours, they will march from Thoubal to Kangpokpi to demand the release of the two abducted youths. Protesters have demanded the government to take decisive action against the militants. Protesters have also threatened to gather in front CM’s secretariat to press for their demands.
