In the midst of the 12-hour bandh, Assam BJP MLA from Duliajan, Teros Gowala has tendered his resignation from MLA post.
Talking to newspersons, Gowala said that he was unhappy over the fact that he was not consulted by the BJP-led government over the appointment of a new chairman of the Assam Gas Company Limited, which is headquartered in his constituency in Eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
The BJP MLA shot off his resignation letter to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal late Monday night.
Gowala further stated that he would consult his party workers in Duliajan and then take a decision to send his resignation letter to the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
It may be mentioned that Gowala was elected to the Assam Legislative Assembly for the first time in 2016.
