Conditions are expected to remain the same in the coming days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this heatwave is attributed to a combination of deficit rainfall, changing wind patterns, and reduced cloud cover, causing severe discomfort for residents across the region.

Today, temperatures in various parts of Assam were recorded between 36°C and 39°C. Schools in Kamrup Metro have been shut from tomorrow till September 27.
