Ri Bhoi Police Seize Truck Carrying 9 Kg Ganja Bound for Assam; Driver Arrested

In a late-night operation, Ri Bhoi police intercepted a truck carrying 9 kg of ganja at Nongpoh and arrested the driver from Assam.

Ri Bhoi district police seized 9 kg of ganja from a truck heading towards Assam and arrested the driver during a late-night operation. Officer-in-Charge of Nongpoh Police Station, M.R. Marak, revealed that the police acted on a tip-off, setting up a checkpoint and stopping the truck at Nongpoh around 10:00 pm.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered the consignment of drugs. The driver was immediately taken into custody.

Marak further stated that an investigation is ongoing to trace the origin of the seized ganja and any potential links to a larger drug network.
