SEBA said that the examination was conducted successfully across the state and all necessary precautions were taken to maintain the sanctity of the process.
The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) has rubbished reports of a possible question paper leak during the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) held yesterday.
The SEBA in a statement said that the examination was conducted successfully across the state and all necessary precautions were taken to maintain the sanctity of the process.
SEBA added that the used question paper circulated on social media surfaced 30 hours after the exam commenced and the availability of these question papers in any form after the examination does not impact the purity and sanctity of the examination process.
“It may be mentioned that mobile internet services were suspended from 10 AM to 1.30 PM on September 15 precluding the possibility of any upload or transfer before or during the examination. The used question paper circulated on social media surfaced at 4.15 PM today, more than 30 hours from the commencement of the examination.
The scanning of the used question paper No: 1035034 has been found to be time-stamped at 2.17 PM Yesterday. The availability of these question papers in any form after the examination does not impact the purity and sanctity of examination process,” the SEBA statement read.
Meanwhile, a photographer engaged by SEBA, Mangal Singh Basumutary, has been detained for photographing and circulating the question paper after the exam.
The Board assured that the examination was conducted with the highest standards and strict legal action will be taken against individuals spreading rumours and confusion about the examination process.
SEBA is also considering allowing candidates to take away question papers after completion of exams to prevent similar allegations in the future.
Meanwhile, DGP GP Singh also took to X and wrote, “Reference uploading of used question paper of ADRE Examination on Social Media – Preliminary technical assessment indicates that the question paper was scanned at 2.17 PM on September 15th and subsequently circulated to selected individuals. Police are ascertaining the conspiracy and the conspirators behind this act,”
