Assam: Government to give compensation and rehabilitation to displaced people of Silsako Lake

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also stated that the government would give compensation and rehabilitation to the displaced people of the Silsako Lake area in Guwahati.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also stated that the government would give compensation and rehabilitation to the displaced people of the Silsako Lake area in Guwahati. CM Sarma sat down for a meeting with the displaced persons of the Silsako lake and assured them of proper compensation and rehabilitation. The displaced persons have sought sums of Rs 10 lakh for one RCC house, Rs 5 lakh for Assam type house and Rs 1 lakh for a uncemented house as part of the compensation and rehabilitation process. The Assam CM will soon sit for a second meeting with the displaced persons for a final settlement
