A Nigerian citizen without valid travel documents was arrested by the Tripura Police from the Agartala Railway Station on Thursday.

The arrested person has been identified as Osita Victor. Sub-divisional Police Officer of Amtali informed that Osita only has a passport but no Indian Visa or immigration stamp.

During interrogation the Nigerian citizen disclosed that he first came to Bangladesh capital city Dhaka, for business and then sneaked into the Indian territory through the porous India-Bangladesh border.

With the growing number of Nigerians involved in drugs trading in recent times in India, the matter raises concerns and has been given its due importance.

Osita was later handed over to the railway police for further interrogation.
