As Tripura struggles to cope with the large-scale devastation caused by the severe floods, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has set up a committee to oversee the flood relief work.

The Tripura royal scion, who visited several flood-affected areas in Gomati district on Wednesday, presided over zonal and sub-zonal meetings and discussed various flood-relief activities at the office of the Gomati District Magistrate.

During his visit, Debbarma pointed out that the damage in Gomati district is among the worst.

He assured full cooperation from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to help the affected people.

During his visit to the affected areas, Debbarma advocated for peace and unity among the different communities of the state.

After chairing a couple of crucial meetings to assess the current situation, the Tripura royal scion visited the worst-affected areas in Gomati and took stock of those in distress.

According to Pradyot, when it comes to calamities or pandemics, everyone must give humanity a chance and rise above differences.

“It doesn’t matter if one is Hindu or Muslim, Bengali or tribal; at this hour of crisis, each one of us needs to stand together. We are all Tiprasas here, and no one should worry about anything,” Debbarma said.

He further assured the flood-affected that things will return to normal soon and that no one should worry too much.
