Agartala GRP, RPF Seize 33 Kg Of Unclaimed Cannabis Worth Rs 2.31 Lakh

In a crackdown on drug trafficking, the Agartala Government Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force on Wednesday seized 33 kilograms of dried cannabis worth Rs 2.31 lakh that was suspected to be destined for another state by train.

Based on confidential information, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a joint operation at the Agartala Railway Station on Wednesday, stated an official statement.

During the search, they seized 33 kilograms of dried cannabis, suspected to be in the process of being transported to another state by train.

The cannabis, which was found unclaimed, has been seized as part of the operation.

The Agartala GRP has initiated an investigation to identify the individuals or groups responsible for this illegal consignment.

The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is approximately Rs 2.31 lakh.Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover more details surrounding this significant drug seizure. (ANI)
