Clashes Erupt in West Tripura After Idol Defaced

Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury rushed to the scene to mediate and bring the situation under control.

Clashes erupted last night in Koitorabari under Ranir Bazaar at West Tripura after an idol in a temple was defaced.

Initial altercation over the defaced idol led to several incidents of arson. Multiple houses and vehicles were set ablaze.

Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury rushed to the scene to mediate and bring the situation under control.

The West Tripura district police acted swiftly, deploying a substantial number of security forces to the area to prevent further violence and ensure public safety.

The police have urged the public to avoid spreading rumours so that the situation does not escalate any further.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, working to bring stability back to the region and address the concerns of the local residents.
