“The only objective is that we have a very clean recruitment process, free from any form of nepotism, and corrupt way of employments”, Passah added
The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) on Monday organised an one day sit-in demonstration protesting the Meghalaya state government’s inaction on their demand to eliminate personal interviews from the recruitment process for Group B, C, and D positions.
KHNAM’s working president, Thomas Passah, highlighted that the protest is in response to the government’s failure to address this issue, despite the party flagging it over a year ago.
While speaking to media, Passah said, “More than one year now, we have submitted multiple representations to the state government right from the MDA 1 till the MDA 2. We have written our representation based on the demand that we want to eradicate or scrap the personal interview. We have also mentioned that Government of India has done away with the personal interview since 2016. Similarly, 23 states also have done away with personal interview”, Passah said.
“The only objective is that we have a very clean recruitment process, free from any form of nepotism, and corrupt way of employments”, Passah added.
“We are very sad to inform that for the past more than one year now, the govt has been turning a blind eye to this very important demand which can only benefit the youth of the state. Our stand is very simple and again we would like to request state govt to think about it because if we do away personal interview we would also ensure the rise in the literacy rate”, he stated.
“If the examination for recruitment for group B,C and D jobs are based on written exams than the youths will have that inspiration to go for studies to pursue studies in better way”, he added.
