This comes after yesterday’s recoveries from Pan Bazar (heart of the city and a busy locality) and Gandhi Mandap area of the city as the Assam Police continued its search operations for possible explosives post the ULFA-Independent’s bomb threat.
It may be mentioned that the ULFA-I in the mail on Wednesday claimed that explosives had been planted in around 25 locations in Guwahati, Sivasagar, Lakua, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Laluk, Borghat, Nalbari, Tamulpur and Dibrugarh.
Following this, Assam Police had launched search operations across the state and recovered suspicious materials from various places.
According to reports, the group’s devices reportedly failed to detonate due to technical malfunctions.
