Tripura: Tribal Youth Found Dead Near Lembuchhara Panchayat Office Amid Ongoing Panchayat Polls Counting

In a shocking incident, the body of a tribal youth was found behind the Lembuchhara Panchayat office in West Tripura district amid the ongoing counting of ballots for the three-tier Panchayat elections.
Following the discovery, Sub Divisional Police Officer Bijoy Sen, along with Officer-in-Charge of Lefunga, Sahadev Das, and Officer-in-Charge of Lembuchhara Outpost, rushed to the scene with a large contingent of police officers, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel, and a forensic team.
As per reports, a thorough examination by the forensic team uncovered multiple injury marks on the victim’s face, raising serious questions about the circumstances leading to the young man’s death.
OC Lefunga, Sahadev Das stated that the exact cause of death would only be confirmed after a thorough postmortem examination. He added that the body has been identified as of Ajay Debbarma (25), son of Samir Debbarma, from nearby Shankar Senapati Para area.
Speaking to Northeast Live, OC Lefunga, Sahadev Das said, “The body has been identified as Ajay Debbarma (25), the son of Samir Debbarma, from the nearby Shankar Senapati Para area. The exact cause of death can only be confirmed after a thorough postmortem examination.”
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about the circumstances leading to the young man’s death, with residents anxiously awaiting more information as the investigation unfolds.
