Another incident of moral policing has surfaced in Assam.

In a latest incident, a woman was mercilessly beaten up and her head tonsured after she stood up opposing the marriage of her minor child at Baterhat in Assam’s Dhubri district. The incident reportedly took place on the night of Oct 2.

The chilling incident that went viral on social media platforms showed a group of people that also included several women attacking the woman.

The woman identified as Ronisa Bibi had opposed to the forced marriage of her minor child which is illegal by law.

When several people started pestering her over the matter she was left with no choice to file a complaint at the Sagolia police station over the matter.

Infuriated at her approaching the police, the group of people took up law into their hands and attacked the woman in the most inhuman manner.

The incident has caused sensation in the area. In the meantime, police have arrested three women in connection with the case.
