National People’s Party seems to be confident of putting up a good show in the upcoming polls to the Legislative Assembly in Mizoram.
Stating that the elections in Mizoram is wide open, NPP leader and Meghalaya Home Minister James Sangma said that people in Mizoram are looking for an alternative, having given a chance to both the Congress and the MNF earlier.
Sangma hoped that people in Mizoram are willing to give a chance to the NPP that is going to the polls with no pre-poll alliance. The Meghalaya Home Minister further said that the Congress Government in Mizoram is facing a very strong anti-incumbency.
Speaking on the election preparedness of the NPP in election-bound Mizoram, Sangma said that the party is building up its base in State and are working out election strategies.
However, Sangma said that the party is yet to decide as to in how many seats the party is going to contest in the upcoming Mizoram polls. Sangma further said that a committee will be constituted to look into whether it will be feasible to contest in all the 40 Assembly constituencies.
