Girls of a school in Guwahati have been allegedly molested by the conductor of a private school bus.
The incident came to light after one of the girl students started behaving abnormally following which the teachers of the school counselled the student leading to the revelation.
A case was then filed at the Basishta Police station and the accused conductor Manoj Kalita was arrested by police.
The parents of the children had reportedly taken the services of a private school bus as the regular bus of the institute did not cater to their area.
Meanwhile, reacting to the incident chairperson of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights said the incident is a result of irresponsibility on the part of both the school and the parents.
She informed that as per the guidelines set by the ASCPCR a supervisor has to stay in the bus with the children till the last child gets down. The incident is a result of complete negligence on the part of the school authorities.
