Newly appointed Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur to Take Oath on July 31

Mathur, 72, a former Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan will be replacing Lakshman Prashad Acharya who has been made the Governor of Assam and given additional charge of Manipur.

The newly appointed governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, will take oath of office as the 18th Governor of the Himalayan state on July 31 in Gangtok.

Mathur, 72, a former Rajya Sabha Member from Rajasthan will be replacing Lakshman Prashad Acharya who has been made the Governor of Assam and given additional charge of Manipur.

Mathur, an RSS man, is currently serving as the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). He has also been the General Secretary of Gujarat BJP.

Lakshman Prashad Acharya who is already on way to Assam, will be taking oath on July 31 at the Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.
